The Opportunity
As Payroll Officer, you'll have ownership of the payroll function and play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. The workplace is varied and engaging, with a strong focus on Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, payroll compliance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process
Interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment conditions
Ensuring accurate calculation of wages, penalty rates, allowances and leave entitlements
Managing payroll tax, reporting and compliance obligations
Processing payroll adjustments, reconciliations and audit checks
Responding to payroll queries and providing support to managers and employees
Maintaining payroll data integrity and employee records
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
Partnering closely with Finance to support reporting and payroll integration

About You
We're looking for someone who is highly detail-oriented, enjoys working through complexity and takes ownership of their work.
You'll bring:
Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing (min. 3-4 years)
Strong Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation skills
Sound knowledge of payroll tax and payroll compliance requirements
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
A proactive and solutions-focused approach
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A willingness to continuously learn and deepen your understanding of Awards, EAs and employment conditions
