As an Early Childhood Teacher and Preschool Room Leader, you will take a leading role in the planning and delivery of the preschool program, while providing day-to-day leadership and support to educators within the room. You will play an important role in bringing the centre's philosophy to life every day, ensuring the needs, wellbeing, learning and happiness of children are at the heart of decisions and practice.

Key responsibilities
n
Lead and develop a high-quality preschool program that reflects children's interests, strengths, ideas and individual learning needs
n
Keep children's wellbeing, learning and interests at the centre of all curriculum decisions
n
Take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the preschool room, supporting educators to work collaboratively and effectively
n
Develop intentional learning experiences that support children's school readiness, confidence, independence and wellbeing
n
Build strong foundations for children's transition to school through play-based learning and meaningful experiences
n
Guide and support educators with programming, planning, observations and documentation
n
Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative room culture
n
Develop genuine and respectful relationships with children and their families
n
Use the EYLF to guide curriculum decision-making, intentional teaching and reflective practice
n
Maintain high-quality observations, documentation and learning records
n
About you
n
Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent
n
NESA Teacher Accreditation – Proficient or above
n
Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS)
n
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
n




Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualifications (HLTAID012 or equivalent)
n
Understanding of child safety and mandatory reporting responsibilities
n
Demonstrated experience in early childhood programming, planning and documentation
n
Completed Geccko child safety training
n
Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills
n
Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice
n
Non contact programming and documentation time
n
Paid professional development, including conferences, workshops, further study opportunities and mentoring
n
Paid staff meetings and room meetings
n
Christmas shutdown period (paid using leave entitlements for permanent staff)
n
