About the role
n
The Senior Category Manager - Non-Clinical is accountable for strategy, prioritisation and delivery across Calvary's overall indirect and non-clinical category portfolio.
n
Reporting to the Director Sourcing, the role leads a team, sets portfolio priorities, allocates work and provides formal people leadership. It owns the consolidated non-clinical sourcing pipeline, reviews and endorses category strategies and sourcing recommendations before escalation, and leads Calvary's most complex, enterprise-wide and commercially material non-clinical procurement activity.

The role engages executive, operational, facilities and finance stakeholders and is accountable for the non-clinical team's aggregate savings, benefits, compliance, supplier performance and risk outcomes.
n
Your main duties will include:
n
n
Safeguarding & compliance: Champion compliance with the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards and Calvary policies, fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing.
n
Portfolio leadership: Own the indirect and non-clinical category portfolio, providing strategic direction across spend, market analysis, sourcing, demand management, standardisation and supplier management.
n
Strategic sourcing & negotiations: Lead complex, enterprise-wide and commercially significant sourcing activities, RFTs, panels, sole-source arrangements and contract negotiations.
n
Governance & team prioritisation: Review and endorse category strategies,
sourcing plans, evaluations and contract awards, while prioritising work and allocating resources across the sourcing team.
n
Stakeholder & supplier management: Build executive and operational alignment on strategy and commercial risks, and resolve escalated supplier, operational and commercial issues.
n
Performance & commercial insight: Monitor portfolio performance, savings, benefits, compliance, supplier performance and risks, using market intelligence to inform sourcing and negotiation decisions.

About you
n
Essential
n
n
Minimum 8 years' procurement experience, including substantial senior-level category management experience across indirect, corporate services or similarly broad and complex portfolios.
n
Demonstrated success leading complex, enterprise-wide and commercially material sourcing processes and contract negotiations with significant commercial, operational or supply outcomes.
n
Strong commercial acumen with experience in spend analysis, supply market assessment, Total Cost of Ownership evaluation and benefits realisation.
n
Demonstrated accountability for portfolio prioritisation, a consolidated sourcing pipeline and aggregate savings, benefits, compliance and risk outcomes.
n
Proven ability to engage, influence and align executive, operational, facilities, finance and other functional stakeholders.
n
Demonstrated formal people-management experience,
including objective setting, performance management, work allocation, capability development and quality assurance.
n
Demonstrated experience reviewing and endorsing category strategies and sourcing recommendations and quality-assuring the work of category management and sourcing professionals.
n
High standard of written communication including category strategies, sourcing plans, board-quality recommendation papers and contract briefs
n

Desirable
n
n
Tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, commerce, law or a related discipline.
n
MCIPS or equivalent professional procurement qualification.
n
Experience in healthcare, aged care, not-for-profit or complex multi-site service environments.
