Community Information & Support Victoria
(CISVic) is the peak body for Victoria's community information and support sector. Through advocacy, representation, sector development and operational support, CISVic strengthens a network of member agencies that support people experiencing personal and financial hardship. As a registered charity and Public Benevolent Institution, CISVic plays a vital role in building stronger, more connected and resilient communities across Victoria.
Reporting to the Board, the
Chief Executive Officer
will provide visionary leadership to advance CISVic's purpose, profile and influence. This highly visible role will see you representing CISVic across government, community and philanthropic sectors, advocating for member organisations and championing the importance of place-based services in supporting vulnerable communities. You will foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and position CISVic as a trusted voice in policy, funding and service system reform.
Leading strategy and organisational performance, you will work closely with the Board, staff and members to deliver long-term impact and sustainability. You will oversee governance, financial stewardship, people and culture, member engagement and service quality, while inspiring the sector through your leadership,
credibility and ability to bring people together around a shared vision for the future.
About YOU
Significant executive leadership experience within a not-for-profit, community sector, membership or peak body environment
Demonstrated understanding of government, public policy and funding landscapes, ideally across both state and federal jurisdictions
Experience leading advocacy, stakeholder engagement and influencing policy or system reform
Strong understanding of place-based services and community-led approaches to supporting people experiencing disadvantage
Proven ability to build organisational profile, credibility and influence, and act as a compelling public spokesperson across diverse stakeholder groups
An engaging leadership style, with the ability to inspire, unite and bring others on a journey
Strong financial, governance and organisational leadership capability
Political acumen, sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex environments with confidence and integrity
A genuine commitment to social justice, inclusion and community participation.
