Simmons Civil is seeking a part-time
Estimating Assistant
to join our growing team in Gladstone, QLD. The role will provide essential administrative and technical support, contributing to the accurate and timely preparation of project quotations and cost estimates. This role is instrumental in ensuring that our bids are competitive, detailed and professionally presented, directly impacting the success of Simmons Civil's projects.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of project estimates, quotations and tender documents
Gather and compile project specifications, drawings, plans and supporting documentation
Support the verification of material costs, labour rates and subcontractor quotations
Prepare and format tender submissions ensuring all documentation is complete and professional
Conduct preliminary site assessments
Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to obtain pricing and project information
Maintain organised systems for estimates, quotations and historical project data
What we're looking for
Strong
administrative, data entry and organisational
skills with meticulous attention to detail




Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to
manage multiple tasks
efficiently and meet tight deadlines
Sound numeracy skills and the ability to work with
figures accurately
Knowledge of construction or civil engineering terminology and practices (desirable)
Experience with estimating software or project management tools (desirable)
A willingness to
learn
Solid
interpersonal
skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
