Must Have Skills:

Evaluate and implement new features/functions of DB2 and associated third party products.
n
Extensive use of utilities and Performance Monitoring tools using BMC, CA and IBM products.

Consultant on DB2 database applications architecture
n
Knowledge of SMP/E and can prepare for and apply maintenance to a DB2 subsystem
n
Engineer and execute the processes to upgrade and/or apply maintenance to releases / versions of mainframe database system software, and associated third party products
n

Maintain DSNZPARMs
n
Implement automated disaster recovery mechanisms for Mainframe Database subsystems and associated third party products. Participate in all recovery coordination activities
n
Create & modify WLM address spaces for stored procedures as needed
n
Database security management
n
Backup/Recovery strategies
n
Scalability Analysis
n
Planning Database maintenance window
n
Capacity planning
n
Monitor and troubleshoot DB2 address spaces for any potential issues
n
Prepare and execute housekeeping strategies for the DB2 Catalog and Directory.
n
Implement security strategy for DB2 via RACF.
n
Troubleshoot Level 3 DB2 Database issues.
n
Provide Level 3 support to
troubleshoot/resolve
system level and application problems with DB2 Database technologies and associated Third Party products - coordinate
escalation/intervention
with vendor as necessary.
n
Strong experience of installing,



customizing and maintaining Mainframe DB2 and ISV products
n
Solid experience managing Q-replication and IBM DB2 Data Analytics accelerator product suite
n
Strong experience working with large data sharing SysPlex environment
n
Hands-on experience of managing system operations, problem diagnosis, performance tuning in both system and application arena
n
Good experience with IBM DB2 Utilities, Disaster recovery and system restoration
n
Install, upgrade and administer mainframe DB2 and DB2 related tools software.
n
Assist with testing, implementation and installation of new or improved systems, as well as product upgrades.
n
Good knowledge on DB2 migrations and upgrades for DB2 V12.1 and V13.1 versions.
n
Good Knowledge on Problem diagnosis related to DB2 and their DB2 tools products.
n
Strong DB2 system programming skill, DB2 recovery, maintain system objects and ZPARM parameter configuration.
n
Good knowledge of DB2 tools installation and upgrades for IBM utilities, Broadcom products.
n
Experience in SMPE knowledge of RSU maintenance apply procedures.
n
Experience in JCL, ISPF, DB2 related products, WLM and stored procedures
n
Knowledge of performance monitoring and troubleshooting DB2 issues.
n
Strong skill set must be needed on DB2 data sharing experience and failover process.
n
Good knowledge of Disaster recovery of DB2 systems includes traditional DR and flash copy DR.
n
Interact with ticketing tool remedy, service center and other business support areas for problem escalations, resolutions, reporting and coordination.
