As a
Senior Social Worker
(Allied Health Qualified) or
Senior Case Manager
(Professional Officer), you will oversee the safety and wellbeing of children and young people through specialised protection methods. Situated in
Blair Athol
, this senior role will monitor complex child protection matters through investigations and assessments that promote positive care outcomes for clientele. Utilising your professional expertise, you will enact beneficial change adhering to statutory guidelines and DCP frameworks.
This is a
single vacancy offered under a dual classification
. The successful applicant will be appointed at the appropriate classification level based on their qualifications, experience and suitability for the role.
Essential Qualifications:
AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions
require applicants to hold a
Social Work
qualification and be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
PO (Professional Officer) positions
require relevant qualifications in
Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health
or other related fields.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Qualified roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
In this role, you will:
Manage complex case management that strengthens the safety of children and young people
Conduct investigations and assessments that evaluate child protection related issues
Apply suitable response measures to resolve notifications of abuse that adheres to strict departmental policies
Produce written and verbal intervention reports that clearly demonstrate understandings of child protection frameworks
Uphold cultural values that recognise inclusivity and diversity when conducting visitations and assessments.
About you:
You have an acute understanding of children and young people in their developmental stages and vulnerability
You possess strong cultural understandings to bolster client engagement and service delivery
You effectively generate high-quality written and verbal communication to echo reflections and assessments
You can interpret and comply with relevant legislative and case management policies
You are a phenomenal team player, who can also work independently to fulfill workload obligations.
Entitlement to claim reimbursement of eligible professional development expenses
Qualification Allowance may apply if you hold an additional qualification relevant to the role.
PO2: $94,769 – $******* p.a. + 12% super

Special Conditions
You must have a current Australian driver's licence (P2 or above) and a willingness to drive is essential.
