We are a privately owned family business with a solid reputation in the Scrap Metal Recycling Industry. Our primary function is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that require end-of-life metals to produce new products.

What are we looking for?
n
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Yard Operator and/or Container Forklift Operator who is safety-focused, self-motivated, and customer-service driven. The right person will be adaptable, able to prioritise tasks, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to work every day. You must be well-mannered and well-presented. Weekend work may be required on occasion. This is a position we want YOU to take ownership of.

You must hold an LF Forklift licence and have a proven background operating forklifts in an industrial/outdoor environment. If you've worked on container forklifts, even better — but if not, we're happy to train the right person. This is a hands-on role where you'll be shown what's expected and then trusted to take ownership.

Qualifications and skills:
n
Current LF forklift licence with experience operating 4-tonne and 10-tonne forklifts — mandatory
n
Container forklift experience — highly regarded
n
Current driver's licence and reliable transport
n
Relevant plant and machinery tickets or certificates
n
Previous scrap metal or recycling industry experience — highly regarded
n




Strong commitment to workplace safety and following procedures
n
Clear communication skills, with two-way radio experience highly regarded
n
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
n
Positive, flexible attitude and willingness to assist with a variety of tasks
n
Friendly and helpful approach when assisting customers and drivers onsite
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
Safely operate forklifts, container forklifts and other plant and equipment
n
Move materials throughout the yard
n
Load and unload bins, containers and trucks
n
Check and secure loads appropriately
n
Complete pre-start checks and basic equipment maintenance
n
Perform general labouring, housekeeping and yard duties
n
Maintain a clean, safe and organised worksite
n
Follow all safety procedures, site policies and company requirements
n
Participate in toolbox talks, safety initiatives and incident reporting
n
Outdoor scrap metal recycling yard
n
PPE provided
n
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm (occasional weekends required)
n
Please Note: This is is a casual position that requires full availability from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays as required. There is opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.

If you do not meet the criteria for the Forklift Operator role, but you hold a valid Forklift (LF) licence, you may still be considered for a General Labourer / and or Picker position (different rate).
