Job Description
We're a busy metal fabrication workshop looking for a reliable Yardhand / Trades Assistant to keep our yard running smoothly and support our tradesmen on the floor. If you've got your forklift licence, know your way around a saw, and take pride in a clean, well-organised workspace, we want to hear from you.

Key responsibilities
n

Operating the forklift to load and unload trucks
n
Cutting steel sections to size using a saw
n
Packing fabricated steel sections ready for dispatch
n
Assisting with painting of fabricated steel sections
n
Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised so our tradesmen can get on with the job without delays
n
General labouring and support duties around the workshop as needed
n

About you
n




n
Current forklift licence (LF) — essential
n
Experience operating a drop saw / cold saw to cut steel sections
n
Physically fit and comfortable with manual, hands-on work
n
A safety-first attitude and comfortable following workshop safety procedures
n
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a small team
n
Own transport
n
Previous experience in a metal fabrication, steel, or trades-based yard (desirable)
n
Experience with spray painting or prep for painting (desirable)
