As we scale, we're building the foundations of a proper facilities function for the first time, and we need someone who wants to build it from the ground up.

About the role
n
This is a rare blank-canvas opportunity. You'll be Sonnel's first dedicated facilities appointment, responsible for stabilising reactive maintenance, building visibility over critical assets, and laying the foundations of a proper facilities function across our venue portfolio.
n
Reporting to the GM Design & Construction, you'll work with high autonomy across a full-time, permanent role based in Sydney with regular travel across the portfolio.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Coordinating skilled trades across the portfolio, including electrical, plumbing and handyman services
n
Building a working asset register for building and capital depreciated assets
n
Managing HVAC, fire safety, and access/egress compliance across all venues
n
Overseeing kitchen equipment servicing and certification
n
Owning maintenance and compliance of security assets, including alarms, CCTV and access control
n
Establishing a supplier register and building visibility of maintenance spend by venue
n




Developing preventative maintenance schedules for critical assets
n
Building strong working relationships with Venue General Managers and operational teams
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Senior facilities management experience across a multi-site portfolio, ideally hospitality, retail or clubs
n
Demonstrated experience managing outsourced service contracts and holding providers to account
n
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and refrigeration
n
A track record of operating effectively where systems and data are still immature
n
Sound understanding of statutory compliance obligations for licensed venues
n
High autonomy, sharp triage judgement, and the resilience to bring order to a demanding first year
n
Credibility with venue teams built through trust and responsiveness
n
Trade background or relevant technical qualification
n
Experience introducing preventative maintenance into a reactive setting
n
Familiarity with asset management or CMMS platforms
n
