Are you an experienced Cyber Security Engineer with solid expertise in network and edge security platforms? We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our client AGLsupporting critical customer-facing digital services and security infrastructure. This is a six months contract opportunity in Melbourne CBD in a hybrid working environment.

This is an exciting contract opportunity for a cyber security specialist who has hands‐on experience with Akamai and enterprise security technologies and enjoys working across complex environments to enhance security posture, resilience, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Administer, maintain and optimise enterprise web application and edge security platforms.
n
Implement security platform changes in alignment with enterprise change management, peer review and release governance processes.
n
Develop and support automation initiatives using APIs, Terraform and other approved tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce configuration risks.
n
Monitor, investigate and respond to security incidents escalated from service desk and security operations teams.
n
Assess, communicate, mitigate and track platform‐related security risks and incidents.
n
Collaborate closely with cyber security, infrastructure, network, architecture and operational teams to deliver secure and resilient services.
n
Support critical customer‐facing platforms operating in a 24x7 environment.
n
Participate in major incident management and on‐call support activities as required.
n
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to ensure security platforms meet regulatory, compliance and industry security requirements.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across security engineering, operations and platform management.

Skills & Experience Essential
n
n
Strong hands‐on experience with Akamai security solutions, including:n
n
Web Application Firewall (WAF)
n
Edge DNS
n
Bot Management
n
API Security
n
Traffic Management
n
DDoS Protection
n
n
Akamai Certified Security Administrator or equivalent certification, with proven experience administering enterprise security and WAF platforms.
n
Experience with alternative edge security technologies such as Cloudflare, Imperva, or similar enterprise platforms.
n
Demonstrated experience within cyber security engineering, security operations, or platform administration roles in large and complex environments.
