About the Role
n
MacKellar is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Operator to join our Nyngan mining operation.
n
This is a hands-on role where you'll lead by example, providing day-to-day support to production crews while remaining actively involved in operating equipment. You will work closely with Supervisors to promote safe work practices, coordinate activities and help achieve production targets.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide leadership and guidance to production operators
n
Operate mining equipment as required
n




Assist with coordinating daily work activities across the crew
n
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
n
Conduct pre-start meetings and support compliance activities
n
Monitor production performance and identify improvement opportunities
n
Liaise with Supervisors regarding operational requirements and site priorities
n
n
About You
n
n
Extensive experience in a production mining setting
n
Demonstrated experience operating production mining equipment, particularly Excavators and Dozers
n
Previous Leading Hand or crew leadership experience highly regarded
n
Strong communication and organisational skills
n
Commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
n
Current RII competencies and relevant operating experience
n
