JOB SUMMARY :
n
The overall scope of the Workshop Technician position is to carry out service and repairs to customer and company owned Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) , T elehandlers, and L ighting T owers in the workshop and in the field when requested.
n
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
n
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
n
n
Evaluating performance of equipment
n
Inspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specifications
n
Installing, testing, servicing, repairing, and modifying electronic , mechanical, and hydraulic equipment and machines. May work with other types of equipment on occasion such as hydraulic hoses, small diesel engines, etc.
n
Conducting pre delivery inspections and assessing m achines to ensure they are in good working order.
n
Conduct repairs and maintenance of customer and JLG owned MEWP,
Lighting Towers and Telehandlers.
n
Assist with the training and supervision of Apprentices.
n
Abide by specific site instructions including Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
n
Maintain a clean and tidy workspace, ensure all tools used are in good working order.
n
Responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork and inspection forms required by A NZ Standards and also by customer and/or site requirements.
n
Conduct three monthly and annual inspections of machines MEWP in accordance with JLG and ANZ industry standards.
n
Participate in pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
n
Maintain personal retail Labour utilization rates as per target.
n
Generating sales and service leads where possible and collaborating with the team.
n
General ad-hoc duties as required.
n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
n
n
Previous experience in a similar role - experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical advantageous
n
Trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel, automotive, auto electrical, or related field
n
Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal.
n
Proficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals, and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers, and quantities.
n
Ability to work independently and as a team.
