About the Role
n
You will provide one-on-one support, ensuring safety, dignity, and structure for a participant who relies on you for mobility and daily care. This role requires patience, strong communication skills, and confidence working with bed-bound individuals.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Manual Handling & Transfers: Safely assist with transfers, repositioning, and mobilisation using 4 wheel walkers, and other equipment.
n
Personal Care: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence management.
n
Meal Preparation: Support with preparing meals that meet dietary and medical needs.
n
Documentation: Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and observations of any changes in condition or behaviour.
n
Emergency Response:



Respond appropriately to medical or behavioural emergencies, ensuring safety at all times.
n
Housekeeping: Perform light household duties to maintain a clean, safe environment.
n
n
About You
n
You are kind, respectful, and an excellent communicator. You genuinely care about the people you support and can build meaningful connections, including with non-verbal clients.
n
You are confident in providing personal care and performing manual handling tasks safely and effectively.
n
Key Selection Criteria:
n
n
Minimum 1+ years' experience in disability support or a similar field
n
Experience supporting participants with mobility needs.
n
Experience with manual handling (4 wheel walkers, transfers)
n
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
n
Ability to work independently and adapt to individual needs
n
Understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding principles
n
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
n
Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and problem-solving ability
n
n
Key Responsibilities (Summary)

Build positive relationships with participants, families, and support networks
n
Deliver care in line with individual care plans
n
Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reports
n
Follow workplace health and safety and safeguarding practices
n
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals

Requirements

Current First Aid & CPR certificate
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
Proof of right to work in Australia
