This role provides exposure across sales, purchasing, operations and project delivery, with the opportunity to build strong commercial experience within a large and established organisation.
YOUR ROLE
As a Purchasing Officer at Bunzl, you'll help ensure the right products are available at the right time, maintaining strong inventory availability while balancing stock investment, cost and customer demand.
Working closely with suppliers, sales, customer service and operations teams, you'll manage purchasing activity, monitor stock performance and help resolve supply issues before they impact our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manage purchase orders, supplier deliveries and stock requirements to maintain strong product availability
Monitor inventory levels, stock turnover, backorders and slow-moving or obsolete stock
Analyse purchasing spend, stock performance and supply trends to identify opportunities for improvement
Maintain accurate product, pricing, supplier and purchasing information within ERP systems
Expedite overdue purchase orders and work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve supply issues
Support supplier returns, credits, cost changes and current product or supplier setup
Build strong relationships with suppliers and key internal stakeholders
Assist with stocktakes,



reporting and other purchasing and inventory activities as required
ABOUT YOU
You're an organised and commercially minded purchasing professional who enjoys working with data, suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep stock moving and customers supplied.
You'll ideally bring:
3–5 years' purchasing experience within a medium to large distribution, wholesale or similar environment
Experience managing both local and overseas purchasing activities
Exposure to ERP or inventory management systems
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Confidence working with suppliers and managing competing priorities
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate purchasing and product information
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly when working with purchasing and inventory data
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across sales, customer service and operations
A proactive approach with the ability to identify issues, take initiative and drive practical solutions
