About the role
n
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a casual vacancy within the Specialist Clinics Outpatients Service. The successful candidates will have strong surgical skills and experience and be available to work Monday to Friday day shifts.
n
The Specialist Clinics Outpatients Service offers exceptional individualised care and is committed to enhancing the patient experience by providing education, information and support that is evidence based.
n
Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour plus 25% casual loading plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you'll be doing
n
In this role, you will deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients by:
n
n
Provide high-quality, patient-focused nursing care aligned with skilled standards
n
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and plan care in collaboration with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team
n
Implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing interventions and initiate appropriate referrals, escalations as appropriate
n
Act as a patient advocate, ensuring informed consent and supporting patients through education and decision-making
n
Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health and community services to coordinate care
n
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives,
patient safety and infection control practices
n
n
About you
n
You are a dedicated Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care in line with Mater's Mission and Values.
n
n
Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions) with 3+ years' experience working within an adult hospital environment.
n
Strong clinical skills and a commitment to excellence in nursing practice
n
Experience in Ophthalmology or eye clinic would be highly regarded
n
Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues, within qualified and ethical boundaries
n
Strong time management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
n
Confidence using electronic systems such as patient information systems, procedural booking tools, Outlook, and Microsoft Excel
n
