DevOps Engineer | Wakefield - Office Based

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing technology business for a DevOps Engineer to join their expanding team in Wakefield. This is a great opportunity for someone who is technically minded, proactive and keen to develop within a forward-thinking environment.
n
You don't necessarily need extensive commercial DevOps experience. If you have a valuable understanding of SQL databases, strong problem-solving skills and the motivation to learn and develop, they would be keen to hear from you.
n
THE ROLE
n
As DevOps Engineer, you'll help bridge the gap between software development and IT operations, supporting the delivery of reliable, scalable and secure systems.
n
n
Developing, maintaining and improving operational workflows.
n
Supporting dashboard creation, data capture forms, backend processes and application integrations.
n
Working alongside Developers, System Administrators and other teams to support efficient system architecture.
n
Supporting continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
n
Managing and working with SQL-based databases including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
n
Monitoring systems and helping to identify and resolve issues or bottlenecks.
n
Troubleshooting technical and operational issues.
n
Maintaining clear documentation of processes and procedures.
n
Identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability and automation.
n
Supporting continuous improvement across internal processes and tools.
n

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
n
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys solving problems and is motivated to develop.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
Knowledge or experience of SQL-based databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server or T-SQL.
n
An understanding of DevOps principles and an interest in developing your knowledge further.
n
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
n
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
n
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
n
A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
n
Knowledge of cloud storage solutions such as S3 would be beneficial but isn't essential.
n
n
Previous DevOps experience would be an advantage, but motivation, aptitude and the desire to develop are just as important.
n
