About the role
n
The Manager of Tax Advisory is responsible for delivering high-quality taxation advisory services to a portfolio of privately owned businesses, family groups and high-net-worth clients. The role combines technical tax expertise, client relationship management, project delivery and team leadership to support clients with complex taxation, structuring and compliance matters.
n
The Manager works with Directors to provide commercially focused advice, manage key client engagements and mentor junior team members.
n
What you'll be doing
n
Technical Tax Advisory
n
Research, analyse and provide advice on Australian taxation matters, including:
n
n
Income tax
n
Restructures and rollovers
n
Tax Consolidation
n
Employee Share Schemes
n
Capital gains tax
n
Small business concessions
n
Trust taxation
n
Division 7A
n
n
Client Relationship Management
n
n
Prepare technical advice papers, memoranda and client reports.
n




Assist with complex restructures, business acquisitions and disposals.
n
Review legislation, ATO guidance and relevant case law to support technical advice.
n
Identify tax risks and develop practical recommendations for clients.
n
Present advice and recommendations in a clear and commercial manner.
n
Prepare fee estimates, proposals and engagement documentation.
n
Support Directors in business development activities.
n
n
Project Management
n
n
Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
n
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
n
Monitor project budgets, deadlines and profitability.
n
Ensure work is completed to the firm's quality and risk management standards.
n
n
Compliance and Quality Assurance
n
n
Ensure advice is technically accurate and appropriately documented.
n
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of tax legislation and regulatory developments.
n
Adhere to firm risk management, compliance and quality control procedures.
n
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of tax governance frameworks where required.
n
CA or CPA qualified
n
4-6 years' experience in public practice taxation and advisory.
n
Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation legislation.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n




Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
n
Experience preparing complex technical tax advice.
n
Exposure to business restructures and transaction advisory.
n
Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff.
n
Business development and client management experience.
n
