About the Role
n
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant to join our growing team. Working closely with our allied health clinicians and broader multidisciplinary team, you will support the delivery of therapeutic programs, undertake administrative tasks and assist in providing high-quality care to our patients.
n

Key Responsibilities
n
Assist with coordinating and providing specialist care for patients as part of a multidisciplinary team
n
Assist mental health clinicians in preparing and conducting individual and group therapy sessions in both inpatient and outpatient settings, utilising evidence-based therapeutic approaches
n
Provide administrative and logistical support in both inpatient and outpatient settings
n
Demonstrate attention to the needs of the client and family to provide privacy, dignity, and the maintenance of confidentiality
n
Help with client care coordination, including scheduling appointments and following up on treatment plans
n
Liaise with members of the allied health team and other hospital services to ensure that the needs of patients with mental health needs are met
n
Maintain accurate timely documentation of patient care and interactions
n
Assist allied health clinicians in day-to-day clinical activities
n
Engage with patients in a professional and empathetic manner
n
Contribute to a positive, safe, and therapeutic environment
n
About You
n
Excellent group-work and teamwork skills, with confidence working both collaboratively and autonomously
n
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
n
Passion and enthusiasm for working in mental health
n
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
n
Experience working with people living with a range of mental health challenges.
n
Formal qualifications of Certificate III (Allied Health Assistant) from a registered training organisation or its equivalent and / or students enrolled in undergraduate allied health tertiary qualifications preferably with previous placement in a mental health setting
n
Basic knowledge of mental health practices and principles
n
Strong organisational and administrative abilities
n
Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care
n
Commitment to on-going education and self-directed learning
n
Ability to remain calm and professional and work collaboratively with consumers, carers and other team members
n
Willingness to upskill in psychotherapeutic interventions (e.g. CBT, DBT, ACT)
n
