We are currently recruiting 12 Call Centre Operators to join a well-established NSW Government organisation based in Newcastle.
This is a great opportunity for experienced customer service professionals to join a busy contact centre environment, assisting customers across a range of enquiries within the Travel & Recreation – Transport space.
About the Role
As a Call Centre Operator, you will provide high-quality customer service and support, assisting customers over the phone, responding to enquiries and navigating a range of systems and processes.
Location: Newcastle CBD
Pay Rate: $***** per hour + super
Contract: 25 September ********* March ****
Hours: 35 hours per week / 7 hours per day
Roster: Rotating roster between 6am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday, including public holidays
Positions Available: 12
About You
We are looking for candidates with 2–3 years of customer service experience gained within a call centre, administration, retail or similar customer-facing environment.
You will ideally have:
Strong verbal and written communication skills




Previous experience working in an office or professional environment
Confident computer and typing skills
Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Teams and Microsoft Office
Strong email etiquette and attention to detail
The ability to learn recent systems and processes quickly
A reliable, professional and customer-focused approach
Flexibility to work across the full rotating roster
Previous government experience is advantageous but not essential
Training & Working Arrangements
Successful candidates will complete two weeks of full-time classroom-based training, followed by a supported nesting period working closely with experienced team members. Full attendance throughout the training period is required.
The role will initially be onsite in Newcastle. Hybrid working may become available following training and competency assessment, subject to business requirements. This is not a fully remote position.
