Ray Turner Technologies is a "One Man Band" electronic security company based in Forest Lake, servicing Brisbane, Ipswich, the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
n
We install professional CCTV, alarm systems, intercoms, access control and electronic security systems across residential, commercial and construction projects.
n
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Trades Assistant / Contractor to assist on an ad-hoc, as-required basis.
n
This is NOT a full-time position.
n
Work is genuinely casual and project-based, with hours varying depending on our workload. Some weeks there may be work available and other weeks there may be little or no work.
n
We are looking for someone who:
n
n
Already has other employment or commitments
n
Is a semi-retired tradesperson looking for occasional work
n
Is a subcontractor looking for additional/fill-in work
n
Is an experienced Trades Assistant who wants flexible additional hours
n
Wants occasional work rather than guaranteed full-time hours
n
n
If you are looking for ***** hours every week, this position is probably not suitable for you.
n
The Role
n
You will assist with electronic security installations throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas.
n
Typical work includes:
n
n
Running and installing security cabling
n
Assisting with installations
n
Mounting cameras, detectors, readers and other equipment
n




Using hand tools and battery-operated tools
n
Drilling and fixing equipment
n
Assisting with testing and commissioning
n
General trade and construction assistance
n
Keeping the work area clean and organised
n
n
Ceiling & Roof Space Work – ESSENTIAL
n
This is an important part of the position. Our work frequently involves running cables through ceiling cavities
n
You must be comfortable entering ceiling and roof spaces when required.
n
If you are not comfortable working in roof/ceiling spaces, please do not apply.

Experienced in trade, construction, electrical, data or cabling work
n
Comfortable using hand and battery tools
n
Physically capable of performing the work required
n
Comfortable working at heights, on ladders and in ceiling spaces
n
Able to work safely around customers, other trades and construction environments
n
Interested in producing neat, professional work
n
Able to communicate clearly in English
n
Punctual and professional
n
n
Applicants must have:

Previous trade, construction, cabling or similar hands-on experience
n
White Card
n




Full Australian working rights
n
Good spoken and written English
n
Ability to work in ceiling and roof spaces
n
Ability to use common hand and battery tools
n
Ability to undertake manual work
n

You don't need to be a security technician — we can show you the security-specific side of the work.

However, you do need to already have a good understanding of trade/construction work and be comfortable working with tools.
