Housing Australia is the Commonwealth's independent housing authority, established as a Corporate Commonwealth Entity in **** under the Housing Australia Act to improve housing outcomes for Australians. Housing Australia sits within the Treasury portfolio and is governed by a Board of non-executive directors appointed by the Minister for Housing.

Housing Australia administers several government programs, including the Housing Australia Future Fund Facility, National Housing Accord Facility, Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator, National Housing Infrastructure Facility, Home Guarantee Scheme and Help to Buy.
n
About the role
n
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this role is responsible for implementing and monitoring Housing Australia's Compliance Management for the Help to Buy Program and Home Guarantee Scheme (Programs) including maintaining a Compliance Plan and the currency of the Obligations Register for these programs. The role has three direct reports, Senior Manager Operational Risk, Senior Manager Privacy and Senior Manager Financial Crime.

You will be required to build a robust working relationship across the teams to increase awareness of importance of Risk and Compliance within these Programs.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Develop and maintain Compliance Plan including understanding of relevant Obligations for the Programs
n
Contribute to development and management of Compliance Policies, standards, and procedures
n
Oversee the remediation of any gaps
n
Provide internal advice, support and education to build Compliance risk and controls awareness within the Programs
n
Assist audit teams in obtaining and reviewing documentation
n
Oversee and advice on any Consumer Compliance matters
n
n
Skills and experience
n
n
Demonstrated 5 years' experience in a Consumer Lending Compliance / Legal role
n
Knowledge of industry consumer lending regulations best practice, frameworks, and standards, having worked in consumer lending business
n
Ability to partner with stakeholders to influence favourable outcomes and enable positive business engagement through effective communication skills
n
Degree in a related field i.e.
finance/business/economics
n
n
