AFL Cairns is looking for an energetic and passionate Game Development Coordinator to join our football team.
n
For many young people, their first experience of Australian football comes through Auskick, school football or a community program.
n
This role is about making that first experience a great one and helping turn it into a lifelong connection with our game.
n
This is a hands‐on football development role. You'll spend your time in schools, clubs and communities delivering quality football programs, building relationships and helping grow participation across our region.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
n
n
Deliver fun and engaging AFL Auskick programs in schools and community clubs
n
Deliver school football programs, competitions and participation activities
n
Introduce more boys and girls to Australian football
n
Build strong relationships with schools, teachers and community organisations
n
Create pathways from schools and Auskick into junior club football
n
Support the transition and retention of participants into community clubs
n
Support junior football development and participation initiatives
n
Contribute to football carnivals, events and community programs
n
Work alongside AFL Cairns clubs and our broader football team
n
Identify new opportunities to grow the game across Far North Queensland
n

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone with energy, personality and a genuine passion for football and working with young people.
n
You might be a young coach or player looking to start a career in sport, studying sport or education, or already working in coaching, schools, sports development or community football.
n




What matters most is your ability to connect with young people, confidently engage a group and create football experiences that make kids want to come back.

You'll ideally bring:

Confidence working with children and young people

Strong communication and presentation skills

Good organisation and planning skills

Initiative and the ability to work independently

A team‐first attitude
n
Knowledge and passion for Australian football
n
Experience in coaching, playing, umpiring, education, sports development or community sport
n
Relevant qualifications or current study in sport, recreation, coaching or education, or equivalent experience
n
AFL coaching accreditation, or willingness to obtain it
n
Current Queensland Driver Licence and access to a vehicle
n
Blue Card, or ability to obtain one
n
First Aid qualification, or willingness to obtain it
n
n
