Tenison Woods College's Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) provides a safe and healthy environment for children who require Before School Care, After School Care or Vacation Care.
A fun and balanced activity program is offered that includes opportunities for all children to participate.
Working under general supervision,Education Support Officers Grade 2demonstraterelevant knowledge and experienceto perform a wide variety of dutiesin an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service.Receivinggeneralinstructionon unusual,non-routine, difficult or new practices,the ESO OSHCactivelysupportsthe programs within an OSHCor Vacation Care program.
The Opportunity
We have casual positions available in our OSHC service that may involve working before school, after school, during term breaks and on student free days.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs for individual children or groups.
Applying skills,
knowledge and experience to ensure work is undertaken in accordance with OSHC policies and procedures to support the service in attaining and maintaining compliance with National Quality Framework and Standards.
Working with individual children with particular needs and assist children with personal hygiene and the implementation of their daily care routines.
Supporting the inclusion of children with additional needs, including children with disabilities, children with complex health support needs and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
About You
You will:
Commit to upholding and actively contributing to the Catholic ethos of the school.
Demonstratedability to work with, supervise, and communicate effectively with children in an OSHCservice or similar setting.
Some experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
Strongcommunicationandinterpersonalskillsto work effectively as part of a team, taking direction fromauthorised senior staff/teachers/Directorto establish a cohesive team dynamic.
Able to apply a range ofwell-developed skills to a variety of predictable problems and occasional unpredictable problems consistentwith knowledge.
Demonstrate relevant knowledge with experienceto perform a wide variety ofdutiesusually without instruction and seek information and advice as necessary.
