The Successful candidates will need to undertake and possess:
Diagnose, test, repair, and maintain electrical systems on emergency service vehicles.
Install, wire, and commission electrical components including warning lights, sirens, communication systems, control panels, batteries, alternators, starter motors, and auxiliary electrical equipment.
Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications to carry out repairs and installations.
Perform fault finding using diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify electrical and electronic system faults.
Install and repair vehicle wiring harnesses, lighting circuits, charging systems, and other automotive electrical components.
Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance,
and electrical inspections to ensure vehicle reliability and compliance.
Test completed electrical systems to verify safe and correct operation in accordance with Australian standards and manufacturer requirements.
Maintain accurate service records, job reports, and maintenance documentation.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and protected electrical work practices.
Work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality electrical repairs and installations within required timeframes.
