Chief Executive Officer
North Burnett Regional Council
Build on reform momentum.
Lead sustainable services, infrastructure and regional growth
Shape the future of the North Burnett.
North Burnett Regional Council is seeking an accomplished Chief Executive Officer to lead an organisation central to the wellbeing, prosperity and daily life of its communities.
Serving six principal townships across more than 19,700 square kilometres, Council delivers essential infrastructure, services and facilities throughout a proud and productive rural region.
Agriculture remains fundamental to the North Burnett's identity, alongside emerging investment, major development opportunities and a program of infrastructure and flood-recovery works.
Over the past two years, Council has strengthened its financial management, governance, service delivery, organisational foundations and public transparency.
The incoming CEO will build on this substantial momentum, consolidate reforms and lead the next stage of Council's financial and service sustainability pathway.
Reporting directly to the Mayor and Council, you will create an effective partnership with elected members, provide clear and impartial advice and translate decisions into accountable organisational priorities.
You will lead and develop the executive team and workforce, strengthen delivery capability and ensure that community expectations, assets,
workforce capacity and capital commitments remain realistically aligned.
You will also be a visible regional leader.
Success will require genuine engagement across the North Burnett, solid relationships with government, industry and community partners, and the judgement to assess investment and development opportunities independently while securing enduring local benefit.
Council is seeking a leader of unquestioned integrity, sound judgement and professional courage.
You will bring whole-of-organisation leadership, strong financial and commercial capability, experience in complex service environments and a demonstrated record of improving performance and delivering measurable outcomes.
Prior CEO and Queensland local-government experience will be highly regarded, although exceptional executives from comparable regulated, multi-service organisations are encouraged to apply.
The position offers an excellent TRP including a base salary of $280,000–$300,000 plus superannuation.
