Yulong Stud is seeking an experienced Equine Truck Driver to join our team at our prestigious stud farm in Nagambie, Victoria.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the thoroughbred industry to play a key role in transporting horses safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will have a background in either Equine Transportation or Heavy Vehicle operation with Stud experience.

Hours and Work Pattern:
n
n
Full-time role
n
Monday – Friday
n
Seasonal overtime during the breeding season
n
n
When there are no scheduled horse movements, you'll support the team with general stud duties
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
n
n
Transporting horses safely and efficiently between farms, veterinary clinics, and other locations.
n
Assisting stud staff with preparation for loading the horses onto the Vehicle.
n
Assisting stud staff with leading the horses on and off the vehicle safely.
n
Ensuring regular or scheduled breaks are taken as requested and reporting signs of illness or injury during or after travelling.
n
Maintaining accurate Truck Logbooks and ensuring all documentation is up to date.
n
Keeping the truck clean, well-maintained, and in good working order.
n




Reporting any vehicle incidents, defects, or maintenance needs promptly.
n
Assisting with general stud duties, when there are no scheduled horse movements.
n

What We're Looking For:
n
n
Previous experience safely transporting horses in heavy vehicles, with a strong focus on horse welfare.
n
A clean driving record with a strong understanding of the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Regulations.
n
Hold a valid Heavy Vehicle licence, minimum class being Medium Rigid.
n
Proven experience handling horses of all ages and genders.
n
A reliable, secure and hardworking nature with a keen eye for detail.
n
Strong communication skills and a professional, well-presented attitude.
n
Undertake long-distance travel as required.
