We are seeking a
State Manager, Regional Emergency Management
.
This newly created leadership role offers an exceptional opportunity to unite and lead AV's new Regional Emergency Management team, building a high-performing function that drives emergency management capability and assurance across AV's regions, ensuring effective response and service continuity during planned and unplanned events.
This is a Full Time Permanent position based within Ambulance Victoria's Emergency Management Unit at our Lonsdale Street office in Melbourne.
Flexible working arrangements are available; however, the successful applicant will be required to work from the Melbourne office and have ability to travel across metropolitan and regional Victoria to support this statewide leadership role.
About the role
Undertaking senior command and control functions during emergencies and escalations, including Regional Health Commander (Prehospital), State Health Commander (Prehospital), State Agency Commander and other designated command functions
Provide strategic leadership to align state-wide emergency management priorities and strategies with regional delivery
Lead AV's Regional Emergency Management team to strengthen capability and assurance across AV's regions
Act as a key liaison between the Emergency Management Unit, regional leaders, and external emergency partners
Ensure all activities and arrangements meet legislative requirements, industry best practice, and community expectations
Drive the development,



implementation and continuous improvement of regional emergency management strategies, frameworks and plans
Foster a high-performing, team-oriented culture that supports continuous improvement and professional development
Leading and contributing to a safe, lawful, and respectful workplace culture through the modelling of ethical and positive behaviours consistent with the AV values
Suited to an AHPRA registered and credentialled paramedic with extensive experience in ambulance or emergency service delivery, the successful applicant will possess:
Proven leadership and extensive emergency management experience, including command and control functions during major incidents and events at a regional and/or state level
Strategic thinking, planning and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain effective in complex and high-pressure environments
Exceptional leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to build and empower high performing, cohesive teams
Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, with experience influencing building collaborative relationships and achieving outcomes across agencies, government, and emergency service partners
Additionally, external applicants to AV will be required to complete criminal record checks, psychometric testing, medical and alcohol and drug testing and qualification, work history, registration and driving history confirmation in line with our curr ent paramedic selection process.

This position is classified as a Schedule B under the Ambulance Victoria (Management and Administrative Staff) Enterprise Agreement ****.
