We are seeking
Grade 2 Clinical Psychologists
to join our team on a casual basis.
This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly within the field of psychosocial oncology in a dynamic supportive clinical environment.
The position reports directly to the psychology Manager with clinical oversight /supervision provided by senior clinical psychologists.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Conduct triage, assessment, and provide psychological support to cancer patients
Work with both outpatient and inpatient settings in patient-centred care
Join a leading cancer hospital with orientation, support, and learning opportunities
Ideal for motivated applicants who value flexibility and contributing to psycho-oncology care
Successful candidates will possess:
An APAC approved postgraduate qualification to Masters or Doctorate level in Clinical Psychology
Full registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia
Endorsement / or working towards endorsement in Clinical Psychology area of practice
Clinical experience in working in a hospital setting
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
The role is on a casual basis and work availability will be dependent on service demand.

Key Accountabilities
Professional
Communicates in a timely and effective manner with Psychosocial team members
Works effectively as a member of the psychosocial oncology team
Attends regular supervision and departmental meetings
Data collection
Engages in and contributes to development of the psychology service at Peter Mac
Knowledge of the principles and application of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation and policies
Attends continuing professional development to the registration standard of APHRA
Acts according to professional and ethical standards complying with the code of ethics and legal requirements of the psychology profession
Demonstrates experience and skill in clinical interventions
Provides psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment individuals, couples, families, and groups
Patient records are completed on the same day of appointment
Demonstrates high level communication skills and ability to work effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team
Manages, conducts, and understands risk assessments and triages
Education and Research
Assists Senior Psychologists with the postgraduate provisional psychologist program
Gives educational presentations as appropriate
Participates in and contributes to quality improvement projects of the service
Involvement in Departmental research activity as appropriate
