Job Description
You will play a key role in supporting Sell & Parker's operations at our Blacktown battery recycling facility. This position involves performing a range of manual labour tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant processing of batteries and related materials.

Your responsibilities will include sorting, inspecting, and handling battery materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting with equipment upkeep in a high-paced industrial setting.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
n
n
Perform routine manual labour duties within the yard, including battery sorting, material segregation, and general housekeeping
n
Inspect and sort batteries and related materials on conveyor systems, ensuring correct classification and safe handling
n
Identify and safely remove prohibited or hazardous items (e.g. damaged lithium batteries & non-conforming waste)
n
Assist machinery by removing materials that cannot be processed safely or may cause damage to equipment
n
Monitor for and respond to potential safety hazards such as leaks, swelling batteries, or contamination risks
n
Maintain cleanliness of the sorting line, work areas to meet safety and environmental standards
n
Clean equipment as scheduled or required to ensure safe operation and longevity
n
Assist with routine maintenance activities when required
n
Follow site traffic management procedures and contribute to a safe working environment for all personnel
n

Working Hours
n
Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

About You
n
n
Experience in recycling, waste management, manufacturing,



or mining industries (desirable but not essential)
n
Experience handling hazardous materials or batteries is highly regarded
n
Valid Forklift Licence (required)
n
Comfortable performing manual handling and labour-intensive tasks in a fast-paced environment
n
Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) practices, particularly around hazardous materials
n
High attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and non-conforming materials
n
Strong organisational skills and problem-solving ability
n
Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
n
Physically fit and able to pass Drug and Alcohol screening requirements
n
Hold full working rights in Australia
n
Able to pass a Police Check
n
