Head of ICT & Digital
Melbourne (Eastern suburbs) | $160,000 + Super + NFP Salary Packaging
Hybrid Work Environment - 1-2 days per week WFH
This is a genuinely rare role. A well-established, values-driven not-for-profit delivering home-based care across Melbourne's east is creating a brand-current Head of ICT & Digital role, backed by a board-approved significant investment in technology over the next four years.
There's no incumbent to inherit, just a single-person IT function today and an independent architecture and operating model review that's already scoped out where things need to head. You'll take that roadmap and make it real, work out what stays in-house versus what gets outsourced, and report directly into the ELT and the board's digital committee.
That review has already flagged the priorities: replacing the ageing clinical system with a modern CRM-based platform, building a proper data and analytics capability to move away from spreadsheet-driven reporting, and integrating core systems like finance and HR so information actually flows between them. It's meaty, well-scoped work with genuine executive backing behind it.
It's a role that suits someone who can move comfortably between strategy and operations. You'll be setting direction on cyber security, data governance and digital investment one day, and rolling up your sleeves on operational ICT delivery the next.
What you'll be doing
Defining the ICT strategy and operating model, including the in-house versus outsourced mix
Leading ICT infrastructure, systems, service delivery and vendor management across the organisation
Owning cyber security, privacy, data protection and information governance, including coordinating the response to any incidents
Leading the replacement of the ageing clinical system with a modern CRM-based client/clinical platform, and improving integration between core systems such as finance and HR
Driving digital enablement and systems improvement, including a future data lake, dashboards and reporting capability
Managing the ICT operating and capital budget, and testing the market against existing consultant recommendations
Leading and developing ICT people and contractors, including the current IT administrator and a future data engineer
Presenting on ICT performance, risk and project delivery to the board's digital committee and executive management
What you'll bring
Proven experience leading an ICT function end to end, including infrastructure, systems, applications and vendor management
A track record in ICT strategy, governance and delivering significant systems, integration or digital transformation projects
Confidence managing ICT budgets, contracts and outsourced service providers
A solid grounding in cyber security, privacy and ICT risk management
The ability to work independently and with sound judgement in a small, lean organisation, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
Strong stakeholder and communication skills, comfortable presenting to a board-level audience
Experience in health, community services or the not-for-profit sector is well regarded
Why apply
A blank canvas - shape the digital strategy for an organisation that has never had one
Direct exposure to the board's digital committee and executive leadership from day one
A genuine investment appetite behind you, with significant investment earmarked for ICT over four years
The chance to build a data lake and reporting capability alongside a future data engineer
A salary package of $160,000 plus superannuation, with the added benefit of generous not-for-profit salary packaging
