The Chance
We have an exciting chance for a detail-oriented and proactive Stock Controller to join our Stock Team at the Universal Store Support Office in Eagle Farm.
Reporting to the Senior Stock Controller, you will play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy across our national retail network. Working closely with Retail Stores, our Distribution Centre and key Support Office stakeholders, you'll investigate stock discrepancies, manage inventory movements, support stocktake activities and ensure accurate stock levels are maintained across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, working with data, and driving continuous improvement in stock control processes within a fast‐paced retail environment.
Key responsibilities




Reviewing stock levels and investigating inventory discrepancies, including negative stock and stock adjustments
Investigating and resolving unreceipted stock deliveries and Inter-Branch Transfers (IBTs)
Managing inventory control processes to identify, address and resolve stock accuracy issues
Supporting loss prevention initiatives through the identification of shrinkage trends and unusual stock movements
Coordinating stocktake preparation and readiness activities with Retail Stores
Managing the cycle count program, including scheduling, execution, discrepancy investigations and stock adjustments
Assisting with stocktake reporting, reconciliation, variance analysis and supporting documentation
Monitoring stock in transit and maintaining accurate inventory movement records across the business
Working closely with freight providers and internal stakeholders to track shipments and resolve delivery issues
Providing day-to-day stock control support to stores and responding to inventory-related queries
Preparing inventory reports, analysing stock trends and providing insights to support operational decision‐making and continuous improvement initiatives
What we're looking for
You'll be naturally curious, enjoy investigating discrepancies, and have a strong commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy while building positive relationships with stakeholders across the business.
Experience in inventory management, stock control, retail operations or a similar inventory-focused role




Knowledge of retail or FMCG environments and inventory management principles
Experience using inventory, warehouse management or retail systems
Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately investigate, reconcile and resolve stock discrepancies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and root causes
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work closely with stores, distribution teams and internal stakeholders
Well‐developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment
A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, process optimisation and delivering accurate outcomes
Intermediate level Excel skills will be highly regarded
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), NetSuite, NewStore POS, Futura or similar platforms will be advantageous
