LCI is looking for a Structural Engineering Undergraduate to join our Sydney Structures team.
n
LCI is an engineering design consultancy specialising in building services and structural engineering. We employ more than 280 people across six offices throughout Australia. In March ****, LCI became part of Artelia—an international, employee-owned engineering group delivering projects across more than 100 countries.
n
Our Structures team is a relatively recent and fast-growing part of LCI. The team brings together structural engineers with significant industry experience and is currently delivering a diverse range of high-profile building projects.
n
This is an opportunity to join the team at an exciting stage of its growth. You will work closely with experienced engineers, gain meaningful exposure to live projects and develop practical structural engineering skills alongside your university studies. You will not simply be observing—you will be supported to contribute to real project work from the outset.

ABOUT THE POSITION
n
This is a casual, paid undergraduate position for a student entering their third or fourth year of a Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
n
The anticipated working arrangements are:
n
n
Commencement following completion of the final **** university semester, typically in November or December.
n
Full-time attendance in our Sydney office during the summer university break.
n
Ongoing part-time work throughout the **** university year, with flexibility around classes, assessments and exams.
n
The opportunity to continue with LCI as a graduate engineer following completion of your degree.
n
n
We are looking for someone interested in building a long-term career in structural engineering and becoming an ongoing member of the LCI Structures team.
n
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
n
Working alongside our structural engineers, you will:
n
n
Assist with the analysis and design of structural elements and systems.
n
Develop your understanding of structural drawings, specifications, engineering reports and other project documentation.
n
Prepare engineering calculations and supporting design documentation.
n
Assist with the production and coordination of structural drawings.
n
Contribute to the delivery of building projects across different sectors and stages of design.
n
Work collaboratively with architects, engineers and other project disciplines.
n
Attend project meetings and site inspections where appropriate.
n
Plan and manage assigned tasks with support from the wider team.
n
n
Your responsibilities will develop as your technical knowledge, confidence and experience grow.
n
ABOUT YOU
n
We are looking for someone who:

Is entering their third or fourth year of a Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
n
Has a genuine interest in structural engineering and the design of buildings.
n
Communicates clearly and works well with others.
n
Is organised and able to manage their time effectively.
n
Approaches problems thoughtfully and is willing to ask questions.
n
Demonstrates enthusiasm, initiative and a strong willingness to learn.
n
Has a developing understanding of structural engineering principles and drawings.

Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Understands the importance of health and safety in engineering design.

Previous industry experience is not essential. We are most interested in your attitude, curiosity and enthusiasm for developing as a structural engineer.
