Job Description
Occupational Therapist New Graduate program ****
n
Graduate Occupational Therapist Program – Newcastle and Hunter | ****
n
Start your OT career with the mentoring, structure and support to become an outstanding community Occupational Therapist.
n
Your Physio Advantage is recruiting for our **** Graduate Occupational Therapy Program.
n
Your first year should be about learning, growing and building confidence — not being handed a full caseload and expected to work it out alone.
n
Your Learn & Grow Year
n
Your first year includes:
n
n
Two weeks of intensive onboarding and shadowing experienced clinicians.
n
5 hours of dedicated mentoring and supported learning each week for your first 10 weeks.
n
Weekly one-on-one mentoring for your first 12 months.
n
Dedicated training sessions specifically for our new graduates.
n
Regular OT team professional development.
n
Guest education from nationally recognised OTs and industry experts.
n
Access to experienced clinicians with 15+ years of experience.
n
$1,500 external professional development budget.
n
Start alongside other **** graduates and progress through your first year together.
n
n
Your learning time is protected. We book your mentoring sessions, graduate training and learning sessions into your diary in advance, so your development doesn't have to compete with your caseload.
n
A Caseload That Grows With You
n
We don't expect a new graduate to perform like an experienced clinician from day one.
n
During your first 10 weeks, you'll have reduced KPIs and a deliberately gradual caseload build. As your skills and confidence develop, you'll progressively work towards a sustainable target of 5 billable hours per day.
n
Structured Clinical Rotations
n
We don't expect graduates to learn every area of community OT at once.
n
You will initially complete an Aged Care rotation,
developing strong foundations in functional assessment, assistive technology, falls prevention, home modifications and clinical reasoning.
n
In the second half of the year, you will progressively rotate into NDIS and disability, developing experience in:
n
n
Functional Capacity Assessments
n
Assistive technology
n
Home modifications
n
Capacity-building therapy
n
SIL and SDA assessments
n
Complex functional assessment
n
n
Why Community Private Practice?
n
Community OT gives you the opportunity to develop broad, practical skills while seeing how clients actually function within their own homes and communities.
n
At Your Physio Advantage, you'll benefit from strong one-on-one mentoring, experienced clinicians, modern technology to assist with clinical notes and reports, expert education and structured career progression.
n
Our aim is to fast-track your development into a confident second-year OT with greater earning potential and career flexibility. Recent graduates within our team have progressed to earning more than $95,000 in their second year.
n
Salary & Benefits
n
n
$81,000 annual salary + superannuation
n
Company car, including fuel and insurance
n
$1,500 external professional development budget
n
Laptop and mobile phone
n
Uniform and OT equipment
n
Structured career and salary progression
n
Join our **** cohort
n
Regular social events and quarterly team days
