Ready to take the next step in your Emergency Nursing journey?
The Next Step Program is a supported professional development opportunity designed for Emergency Department nurses wanting to build confidence, strengthen clinical reasoning, and develop the knowledge required to care for increasingly complex patients. Whether you're considering postgraduate study in the future or simply want to expand your Emergency Nursing skills, this program provides the knowledge and support to help you grow, without any associated course fees!
What is included?
Throughout The Program You Will Receive
Six interactive, paid (within your EFT), face-to-face study days
Comprehensive participant workbooks and learning resources
In-depth anatomy and physiology education across major body systems
Pathophysiology focused teaching linked to common Emergency Department presentations
Clinical reasoning and patient assessment workshops
Real-time patient assessment opportunities with experienced clinicians
ECG interpretation and rhythm recognition
Venous and arterial blood gas (VBG/ABG) interpretation
Advanced Life Support (ALS) education and practical skills
Ongoing support and mentorship from experienced Emergency Department educators
Key Responsibilities
Engage in a structured program designed to progress your career in Emergency Nursing.
Exhibit clinical excellence and professionalism in patient care.
Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our clients and their families.
Contribute to fostering best practices and service delivery within the Emergency Department.
Able to work roster of days and nights across a 7-day week
Skills And Experience
Current AHPRA Registration.
6 months emergency experience post graduate year.
Exceptional communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Robust clinical skills and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
On Offer
Approximately 10 Next Step positions available
Fixed 1 year term (commencing Jan ****), Part-time contracts from ***** hours per fortnight

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement ***********. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $***** - $***** per hour.
