Woods Grain Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team in Goondiwindi.
n
This is a hands-on role supporting our grain handling, processing and packing operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Coordinator, you will undertake preventative maintenance, fault-finding and repairs to help keep the plant operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Complete preventative maintenance and servicing of production equipment.
n
Diagnose mechanical faults and complete timely repairs.
n
Repair, replace, fit and assemble machinery components and parts.
n
Maintain conveyors, augers, elevators, packing equipment and other fixed production plant.
n
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities through the MEX maintenance system.
n
Inspect production equipment and identify emerging maintenance requirements.
n
Work with Operations personnel to prioritise maintenance and minimise production disruption.
n
Assist with the planning and implementation of maintenance and plant improvement projects.
n
Maintain appropriate stock levels of maintenance parts and consumables.
n
Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, accounted for and removed from production areas after work is completed.
n
Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of plant reliability and effectiveness.
n
Follow workplace health and safety, isolation, permit, GMP and site procedures.

Qualifications and experience
n
To be considered for this position, you will need:
n
n




A recognised trade qualification as a Fitter, Fitter and Turner or Fitter/Mechanic, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
n
At least two years of demonstrated experience in an industrial, production or facilities maintenance environment.
n
Strong mechanical fault-finding, repair and preventative maintenance skills.
n
A current driver's licence.
n
A current forklift licence.
n
Sound planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
n
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
n
The ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a broader team.
n
Good communication skills and the ability to work constructively with Operations and other departments.
n
The physical capacity to safely perform the inherent requirements of the position.
n
A reliable, motivated and safety-focused approach to work.
n
n
Experience in grain handling, food or feed manufacturing, agricultural processing or a similar production environment will be highly regarded.
n
Hours and remuneration
n
This is a full-time position based in Goondiwindi, Queensland.
n
The position provides:
n
n
Base salary of $79,423 per annum.
n
Superannuation in addition to the base salary.
n
A minimum of 38 ordinary hours per week.
n
Overtime and weekend work as operationally required.
n
Payment for overtime in addition to the base salary, in accordance with applicable workplace arrangements.
n
A roster to be advised.
n
n
