The overall purpose of the Maintenance Officer is to carry out domestic and general maintenance functions as appropriate and required at a residential aged care facility, to engage and manage contractors for works authorised by the facility manager and to oversee grounds maintenance and enhancement under the direction of the Facility Manager.
n
The Maintenance Officer may also be responsible for carrying out the functions of a Workplace Health and Safety Officer in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act (refer to relevant Facility structure).

About the role
n
n
Demonstrated experience and ability to perform domestic and general maintenance, including basic painting, plumbing, carpentry, minor repairs to equipment and the maintenance of large area grounds and gardens
n
Demonstrated ability to work without close supervision and within a team environment
n
Good time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and follow through on tasks effectively
n
Ability to provide and maintain quality reports and recommendations.

Requirements

Current National Police Check
n
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance - as required
n
Current Queensland Driver Licence and own reliable vehicle
n
Ability and willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster including working on weekends and public holidays as required
