An established and growing construction business is looking for an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of its people function and work closely with senior leadership across the organisation.
n
This is a broad, hands-on generalist role where you'll have genuine visibility across the business and the opportunity to influence how people are recruited, supported, developed and retained.
n
You'll be joining a fast-paced, project-driven environment where HR is expected to be practical, commercially aware and connected to the day-to-day needs of the business.
n
The Opportunity As HR Manager, you'll manage the HR function across the full employee lifecycle while acting as a trusted partner to managers and employees.
n
The role combines operational HR, employee relations and recruitment with longer-term initiatives across performance, capability, engagement and workforce planning.
n
You'll have the autonomy to take ownership, improve existing processes and help shape the people practices of a business that continues to grow.
n
What You'll Be Doing
n
n
Provide practical HR and employee relations advice to managers and employees
n
Manage recruitment and workforce resourcing across the business
n
Oversee the employee lifecycle from onboarding and probation through to performance management and offboarding
n
Prepare employment contracts, variations, correspondence and HR documentation
n
Manage employee relations matters, including performance, conduct and disciplinary processes
n
Coordinate performance and remuneration review processes
n
Identify training and development needs and support capability-building initiatives
n
Partner with leaders on workforce planning, succession and employee retention
n
Develop initiatives that support employee engagement and a positive workplace culture
n
Maintain HR policies, processes and documentation in line with Australian employment legislation
n
Drive improvements across HR systems, processes and reporting
n
Support broader people and culture projects as the business continues to evolve
n

You'll Ideally Bring
n
n
5+ years' experience in a broad HR generalist role
n
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice
n
Demonstrated experience managing employee relations and performance matters
n
Experience across recruitment, onboarding, HR operations and the broader employee lifecycle
n
Confidence partnering with senior leaders and providing pragmatic HR advice
n
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across different levels of a business
n
Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities
n
A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach
n
Must have - Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
n
n
Experience within construction, engineering, property or another project-based environment would be highly regarded, but robust HR generalists from similarly fast-paced industries are also encouraged to apply.
