Western Sydney Community Support Services – Ropes Crossing NSW

We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to support a 12-year-old male participant with non-verbal autism and ADHD in Ropes Crossing. Hours are Monday to Friday 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, with potential additional hours on weekends and longer hours available during school holidays. Initial buddy shifts will be provided.

Key responsibilities

Provide after-school support and supervision
n
Assist with daily routines and activities
n
Support with toilet training and personal care
n
Use appropriate communication strategies for a non-verbal participant
n
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
n
Develop independence and life skills
n
Support community participation and recreational activities
n
Follow individual support and behaviour plans
n
Maintain a protected, respectful and structured environment
n
Complete accurate progress notes
n
n
About you
n
n
Experience supporting children with autism and ADHD
n
Experience working with non-verbal participants
n
A patient, calm, caring and reliable approach
n
Experience with toileting and personal care
n
Understanding of positive behaviour support
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
Flexibility to work weekends and school holidays
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Working With Children Check
n
First Aid and CPR
n
Relevant
disability/community
services experience
n
