About the Role
n
We're looking for a casual Needle Syringe Program (NSP) Worker to join our team working 53.2 hours a fortnight. The shift times are 9am to 5:06pm or 11am to 7:06pm.
n
As an NSP Worker, you'll:
n
n
Provide sterile injecting equipment, education, and resources to support safer injecting and safer sex practices.
n
Offer information and supported referrals to health, social, housing, and drug treatment services.
n
Engage meaningfully with clients through harm reduction principles, building trust and connection.
n
Monitor and maintain NSP supplies, ensuring the service operates smoothly and efficiently.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement, team collaboration,



and the shared goal of community health and wellbeing.
n

This role is hands‐on, values‐driven, and deeply connected to the people and place of North Richmond.

About You
n
You're approachable, grounded, and passionate about harm reduction and community health. You bring empathy, professionalism, and practical experience to your work — supporting people with respect and without judgment.
n
You'll also have:
n
n
A Certificate IV in AOD (or willingness to complete the 4 Core Competencies).
n
Knowledge of harm minimisation and the health issues affecting people who inject drugs.
n
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with people from diverse backgrounds.
n
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a rapid‐paced, client‐focused environment.
n
Qualifications in Welfare, Community Services, Social Work, or related fields.
n
Experience working with marginalised communities.
n
Understanding of trauma‐informed practice.
n
