Job Description
Lead Data Engineer | SQL & Data Warehousing
n Lead data engineering delivery across a complex government data warehouse platform, providing technical leadership, reviewing data designs and developing SQL and ETL solutions across enterprise data environments.
n
Location: QLD, SA, ACT, VIC, NSW
n Work Arrangement: Hybrid
n Contract Duration: 12 months with one 12-month extension option
n Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance
n
Essential Tasks
n
n
Provide technical leadership through design reviews, workshops and implementation guidance.
n
Own the technical implementation of recent data from analysis through to delivery.
n
Develop and maintain SQL analytical and ETL code, data models and documentation.
n
Improve data delivery frameworks, coding standards, release processes and development practices.
n
n
Key Criteria
n
n
Strong competency developing,



auditing and reviewing code across at least two of MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift and Databricks.
n
High-level programming capability using languages such as Python, SAS, R or Java.
n
Advanced SQL expertise, including reverse-engineering end-user SQL and interpreting data models and specifications.
n
Sound knowledge of DevOps processes, DevOps tools and version control practices.
