Job Description
Registered Nurse - Neonatal / SCN & NICU

Join the dedicated Neonatal team at Greenslopes Private Hospital as a Full-Time Registered Nurse, providing high-quality, compassionate care to newborns requiring specialised support.
n
As a member of the clinical team, you will provide individualised nursing care to neonates while working closely with parents, families, medical staff, midwives and the broader multidisciplinary team.
n

About You
n
You are a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with a genuine interest in neonatal nursing and a commitment to providing safe, high-quality care to newborns and their families.

You have strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication abilities and the confidence to work in a specialised clinical environment. You understand the importance of family-centred care and are committed to supporting parents throughout their baby's hospital journey.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide safe, high-quality and evidence-based nursing care to neonates.
n
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
n
Monitor neonatal patients and recognise and respond appropriately to changes in their clinical condition.
n
Provide care to babies requiring Special Care Nursery (SCN) and neonatal support within the scope of the service.
n
Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
n
Support parents and families by providing education, reassurance and assistance with their baby's care.
n
Promote family-centred care and encourage parents to participate in their baby's care where appropriate.
n
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
n
Communicate effectively with parents, families, medical staff, midwives, nurses and allied health professionals.
n
Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
n
Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and seek support when required.
n
Participate in clinical handovers and multidisciplinary team discussions.
n
Contribute to a safe, supportive and positive clinical environment.
n
Participate in education, career development and quality improvement activities.
n

You Will Also Bring
n
n
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
n
Previous experience in neonatal nursing, SCN or NICU is highly regarded.
n
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
n
Sound understanding of neonatal care and the needs of newborns and their families.
n
