Eden, NSW | Permanent Full-Time | $40–$75 per hour + overtime | Training Provided

Are you a licensed electrician looking to build a career in one of the fastest-growing areas of the electrical industry?

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Licensed Electrician to join a specialist renewable energy team based in Eden, NSW, with projects travelling across Australia.
n
You don't need to already be an off-grid solar expert. What matters most is that you're a qualified electrician with a great attitude, strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn.
n
The Opportunity
n
This is a hands-on role where you'll work as part of a dedicated two-person installation team, gaining practical experience in the design, construction and installation of high-quality off-grid solar systems.
n
n
Workshop-based electrical and solar system construction in Eden
n
Travelling throughout Australia for installations
n
Working alongside experienced off-grid solar electricians while you develop your skills
n
Progressively taking on more responsibility as your competency and qualifications grow
n
Working on projects ranging from smaller residential systems through to large commercial standalone solar installations
n
n
Systems are largely pre-built and tested in the workshop before being transported to site, meaning installation teams arrive with significant preparation already completed.
n
Main Duties
n
The successful candidate will work across both the Eden workshopand customer installation sites throughout Australia.
n
Workshop-Based Duties
n
n
Build and assemble off-grid solar and battery systems in the workshop.
n
Complete electrical wiring, connections, testing and fault-finding.
n
Pre-build complete solar systems so they are fully tested and operational before leaving the workshop.
n
Install and configure inverters, batteries, solar equipment, switchboards and associated electrical components.
n
Read and interpret electrical drawings, system designs and installation plans.
n
Test and commission systems to ensure they are safe, compliant and operating correctly.
n
Prepare equipment, materials and tools for upcoming installation projects.
n
Assist with loading, transport and preparation of equipment for site installations.
n
Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
n
Identify and resolve electrical or equipment issues before systems are transported to site.
n
Work closely with the wider workshop and installation team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
n

Off-Grid Solar Installation Duties
n
n
Travel to customer sites throughout Australia to install standalone solar and battery systems.
n
Work as part of a dedicated two-person installation team.
n
Install solar panels, batteries, inverters, switchboards, cabling and associated equipment.
n
Complete electrical connections and installation work in accordance with relevant Australian standards and regulations.
n
Assist with site preparation, equipment positioning and system assembly.
n
Carry out testing, commissioning and fault-finding on completed systems.
n
Diagnose and rectify electrical and system issues on site.
n
Work safely in a range of environments, including residential, rural and commercial locations.
n
Liaise professionally with customers and other trades while on site.
n
Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety and attention to detail.
n
Complete installation and project documentation as required.
n
Progressively take on greater responsibility as experience, competency and additional solar/off-grid qualifications are gained.

Training & Career Development
n
n
This is a genuine opportunity to specialise in off-grid solar.
n
Full training and mentoring will be provided, including support to obtain the additional solar and off-grid qualifications required for the role.
n
You'll initially work closely with an experienced qualified off-grid solar electrician, with responsibility increasing as your skills and competency develop.
n
The long-term goal is to build you into a highly capable off-grid solar installer who can confidently undertake projects throughout Australia.

The role offers a genuinely different work/life arrangement.
n
When based in Eden, you'll generally work a four-day week, giving you a three-day weekend.
n
The work schedule will generally average around: 2 weeks in Eden / 2 weeks travelling
n
There is flexibility around the days worked at home, depending on project requirements.
n
When travelling, work-related travel, accommodation and meals are organised and paid for, so you aren't expected to carry the upfront cost of working away.
n
There are also opportunities for overtime, with travel throughout Australia currently including projects across NSW, Victoria, South Australia and other locations as the business expands.

Salary & Benefits
n
Salary will be negotiable based on your qualifications,
experience and capability.
n
As a guide:
n
n
Developing/licensed
electrician: approximately $40–$45 per hour
n
Experienced and highly qualified electricians: significantly higher earning potential
n
Candidates with strong solar/off-grid experience and additional tickets may command $55+ per hour in the workshop
n
Work-away rates can reach approximately $75 per hour, depending on experience and project requirements
n
Overtime available

About You
n
n
Holds a current Australian electrical licence
n
Has solid electrical experience and takes pride in their workmanship
n
Has a positive, team-focused attitude

Is reliable, honest and has strong personal integrity

Is physically capable of workshop and installation work
n
Is comfortable travelling and spending significant periods away from home
n
Is interested in developing a career in solar and renewable energy
n
Is happy to learn current technology, systems and installation techniques

Is willing to relocate to Eden, NSW, or is already based locally

Solar Experience – Great, But Not Essential
n
n
Previous solar or off-grid experience is highly regarded, but it is not essential.
n
Our client is happy to train the right electrician and support them in gaining the additional qualifications and accreditations required to progress into off-grid solar.
n

Candidates will be highly regarded with experience or accreditation in areas such as:
