Our client is a Sawmill is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic / Fitter to join our busy workshop team at our Werombi site. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their workmanship, and has experience maintaining trucks, mobile plant, and industrial equipment.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping our fleet and sawmill equipment operating safely and efficiently.
n
This role is a 7am start and a 4pm finish Monday - Thursday. 7am-1:30pm finish on Fridays!
n
What's involved?
n
n
Service, repair and maintain a range of diesel and petrol-powered plant and equipment
n
Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on sawmill machinery
n
Carry out servicing and repairs on company trucks, loaders and other mobile equipment
n
Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently
n
Assist in maintaining a protected, clean and organised workshop
n
Work independently and as part of a supportive team to minimise downtime
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
A recognised trade qualification (Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic, Fitter & Turner or similar)
n
Welding and fabrication experience
n
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance or mechanical role
n
Robust fault-finding and problem-solving skills
n




The ability to prioritise work and adapt to changing workloads
n
Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude
n
A good level of physical fitness
n
A current Australian Driver's Licence
n
n
