We're looking for an experienced landscape architect who is a strong designer and collaborator, and who enjoys taking projects from early ideas through to documentation and delivery.
REALMstudios
is a national practice working at the intersection of Country, community and place.
Through strategy, planning, urban design and landscape architecture, we help navigate complexity and uncover opportunities for places and people to thrive.
We work collectively, as a national design practice of over 30 staff across our studios in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, and Perth.
Our work sits at the intersection of people, systems and Country — where ecology, culture and community are not constraints, but drivers of design.
The REALMstudios Brisbane team is growing, and this role offers the prospect to play an important part in that growth, contributing to design thinking, leading projects and working closely with our broader national team.
The role
You'll work across a diverse portfolio of public realm, open space and urban projects, with opportunities to contribute from early strategic and conceptual thinking through to detailed design and construction.
We're looking for someone who shares our values and approach, brings strong design thinking to a project, and can carry that thinking through the realities of delivery.
Depending on your experience, the role will include:
Managing and contributing to landscape architecture projects across multiple scales and project stages.
Developing strong design ideas and translating them into clear, resolved outcomes.
Preparing and leading design documentation and construction packages.
Coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams.
Mentoring and supporting emerging landscape architects and designers.
Contributing to design reviews,
studio culture and the ongoing growth of our Brisbane practice.
Collaborating with REALM teams nationally, including opportunities to work across interstate projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or higher in Landscape Architecture.
Minimum of 6 years' experience in landscape design through to construction review.
Proven track record of successful project management and design documentation.
Demonstrate effective organisational skills and experience across all project phases.
Be enthusiastic, talented and a good communicator, able to work as part of primarily a local and then nationally based team.
Ability to coordinate and work with a diverse in house and external consultant team.
Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Solid software proficiency (e.g. Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Project Management Software).
What REALMstudios will provide:
Competitive salary dependent upon experience.
Opportunities for professional growth and development.
AILA membership and work-related training.
A supportive and creative work environment.
A buddy and mentorship program.
Practice based research agenda.
Connectivity into interstate projects and studios.
Flexible hours and work from home arrangements.
Values-led ethos to projects and design.
The chance to work on an exciting portfolio of quality state government, local government, and commercial projects for leading clientele.
If you're looking for your next step and want to help shape meaningful landscapes and the future of a growing Brisbane studio we'd love to hear from you.
