Duties:
n
n
Strip down, service, and rebuild heavy locomotive components and mechanical assemblies efficiently.
n
Clean, overhaul, and test mechanical parts to ensure optimal operational performance on the bench.
n
Read and follow mechanical diagrams, service manuals, and workshop job sheets accurately.
n
Operate hand tools, power tools,



and workshop machinery to complete heavy overhaul tasks safely.
n
Maintain strict workshop safety protocols, standard procedures, and keep a clean workspace.
n

Skills & Experience:
n
n
Mechanical Trade Certificate preferred, or solid hands‐on Mechanical Trades Assistant experience.
n
Proven practical experience in mechanical assembly, component strip‐down, and heavy overhaul work.
n
Strong mechanical aptitude; candidates with vehicle maintenance hobbies are highly regarded.
n
A reliable, practical, and safety‐first attitude on the workshop floor.
n
Ability to pass standard pre‐employment checks and background screening tests.
n
