Reporting to theManager, People Advisory, thePeople Advisorwill provide practical, timely and consistent people advisory support to leaders and employees across AFCA. With a focus on standard employee lifecycle activity and routine to moderately complex employee relations matters, you'll support people matters from initial intake through to resolution, helping ensure a fair, consistent and well-documented approach.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Provide timely and practical advice to leaders and employees on standard people matters, employee lifecycle processes and routine to moderately complex employee relations matters.
n
Support case management across flexible work arrangements, performance, conduct, probation and disciplinary processes, ensuring clear records and appropriate escalation.
n
Support leaders to apply fair and consistent processes, including appropriate communication, consideration of relevant information and clear outcome documentation.
n
Prepare accurate employee lifecycle and change documentation, including employment changes, letters, records of discussion and other standard people documentation.
n
Maintain accurate employee and case records, ensuring information is handled confidentially and in line with relevant policies and processes.
n
Identify emerging risks, themes and improvement opportunities, escalating complex or sensitive matters to People Partners, the Manager, People Advisory or the Senior Employment Relations Consultant as appropriate.
n
Work collaboratively with People Partners, the Senior Employment Relations Consultant and the broader People & Culture team to support effective people outcomes.
n
Contribute to improvements across People Advisory processes, tools and reporting.
n
Support cyclical People & Culture activities and broader team priorities as required.

Qualifications
n
What you'll bring
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
n
Experience in a People Advisory, HR generalist or employee relations role supporting leaders and employees with people matters.
n
Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, up-to-date awards, policy application and procedural fairness principles.
n
The ability to interpret awards, legislation, policies and procedures and apply them in a practical and consistent way.
n
Experience supporting employee lifecycle administration, employee change documentation and routine employee relations case management.
n
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear,
accurate and sensitive people documentation.
n
Sound judgement, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining confidentiality and accurate records.
n
A collaborative and customer-focused approach, with the confidence to work within defined frameworks and elevate complex or high-risk matters when required.
