POINTBREAK CAFE & CO PTY LTD T/a PointBreak Cafe & Co (located at Shop ***** Marine Parade, Coolangatta QLD ****_) is currently seeking a talented Chef to join the team full time.
n
Duties and Responsibilities:
n
n
Coordinate and manage the preparation and cooking of food to ensure effective kitchen operations and timely service.
n
Assist with menu development, estimate food and labour requirements, and arrange the procurement of ingredients and supplies.
n
Monitor the quality and presentation of dishes throughout all stages of preparation and service to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction.
n
Liaise with management, dietitians, and kitchen and front-of-house staff regarding food preparation requirements and service needs.
n
Demonstrate culinary techniques and provide guidance on cooking methods and kitchen procedures
n
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and established standards.



Promote and enforce food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures within the kitchen.
n
Assist with the selection, training, and supervision of kitchen staff when required
n
Apply appropriate food preservation and storage techniques to maintain product quality and minimise waste.
n

Applicants must have:
n
n
Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline.
n
Minimum 1 year experience.
n
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
n
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
n
Strong knife skills and food preparation techniques.
n
Experience in different cooking methods.
n
Understanding of ingredients and seasonings.
n
Food safety and sanitation practices.
n
Skills in Plating and Presentation.
n
Excellent organisational and communication skills
n
Creativity in designing innovative dishes and menu.
n
Excellent organizational skills for managing tasks, inventory and staff schedules
n
n
A salary of $79,500 - $82,500 will be offered the successful candidate.
