n
The Transplant & Cellular Therapy Laboratory at Liverpool Hospital is part of NSW Health Pathology and supports one of Current South Wales major transplant and cellular therapy programs. The laboratory provides specialised services for haematopoietic progenitor cell processing, cryopreservation, flow cytometry testing, and immune effector cell therapies. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative patient care, clinical trials, quality improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of a highly specialised service.

What you'll be doing
n
Responsible for providing specialised laboratory services within the Transplant & Cellular Therapy Laboratory, including the processing, testing, cryopreservation, storage and release of cellular therapy products to support transplantation and clinical trial programs. The role contributes to quality management, staff training, continuous improvement, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to pathology from a recognised tertiary institution
n
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services relevant to the laboratory, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Control Systems and computer programs such as Microsoft Office suite
n
Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical and laboratory staff, along with report writing skills, statistical evaluation of scientific data and the ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures
n
Ability to work in a responsible and effective manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
n
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes and contribute to a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the laboratory
n
Display initiative,



problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles in a pathology laboratory and investigate and resolve general and complex issues within the laboratory environment
n
Sound understanding of legislation, policies and requirements that impact the laboratory environment including work health and safety and privacy requirements
n
Demonstrated experience in the handling, processing, cryopreservation, storage, and infusion of Human Haematopoietic Progenitor Cells (HPCs) and Immune Effector Cells (IECs), with proven knowledge of laboratory quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and accreditation requirements.
