About the Role
n
The Activities Officer (Leisure & Lifestyle) is responsible for delivering engaging, person-centred lifestyle and recreational programs for residents within a residential aged care setting.
n
These programs are designed to enhance residents' quality of life by supporting their physical, social, emotional, cultural and spiritual wellbeing, while promoting independence and meaningful participation.
n
This is a part‐time opportunity based at Parkview, Chermside.
n
Plan, implement and evaluate individual and group leisure and lifestyle programs tailored to residents' needs, interests and abilities.
n
Facilitate a variety of activities that provide psychosocial and physical stimulation, including programs for residents living with dementia.
n
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support resident care and wellbeing outcomes.
n
Assist in the development and review of resident lifestyle care plans and document ongoing progress and participation.
n
Build positive relationships with residents, families and external stakeholders to support engagement and individualised care.
n
Coordinate and support community engagement activities and events that foster social connection.
n
Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to volunteers involved in lifestyle programs.
n
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, aged care standards and organisational policies.
n
Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives and continuous development activities.
n
Assist with ordering and maintaining program resources within budget.
n
About You
n
Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating lifestyle or recreational programs, preferably in aged care.
n
Experience supporting older people, including those living with dementia.
n
Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families and team members.
n
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
n
Demonstrated ability to complete documentation and maintain accurate records.
n
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team workplace.
n
Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
n
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety and continuous quality improvement practices.
n
Desirable Additional qualifications or experience in dementia care, music, art, exercise or related areas.
n
First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
n
Experience working with volunteers in a care or community setting.
n

Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent.
n
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
n
Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module ("Quality, Safety and You").
n
Proof of vaccination status as required by legislation or WMQ policy.
n
Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
n
Relevant probity checks as required by legislation and WMQ policy.
n
